Camera and Lighting

My first love might be editing, but camera work and lighting is not too far behind. Having the technical skills to capture the footage allows me to really craft the videos I work on.

Interviews are the bread and butter of documentary and explainer videos. Above are some examples of in-studio and on-location set ups that I was in charge of lighting and shooting.



One of my favorite visual techniques is stop motion. Below are two examples where I utilized stop motion to explain complex, controversial topics.


The House of God is a documentary I worked on with my colleagues at JAMA. I was responsible for setting up, lighting, shooting and editing the B-Roll sequences, like the typewriter and reel-to-reel.
